Get your perfect new tab setup in just a few minutes.
Understanding the Interface
When you first open acetab, you’ll see:
- Main Area — Your widget grid or link cards
- Screen Switcher — On the left (or wherever you position it)
- Top Bar — Logo and search bar
- Edit Button — Bottom corner (pencil icon)
Edit Mode
Edit mode is how you customize everything. To enter edit mode:
- Click the pencil icon in the bottom-right corner
- Or press
Eon your keyboard
In edit mode, you can:
- Add, remove, and configure widgets
- Drag widgets to reposition them
- Resize widgets by dragging their corners
- Change backgrounds and settings
Click the pencil again (or press E) to exit edit mode.
Adding Your First Widget
- Enter edit mode
- Click the ”+” button that appears
- Choose a widget from the list
- The widget appears on your dashboard
- Drag it where you want it
- Click the widget’s settings icon to configure it
Creating a Link Screen
Link screens are perfect for organizing bookmarks:
- Click ”+” next to your screens in the switcher
- Choose “Link Screen”
- Name your screen (e.g., “Work”, “Personal”)
- Enter edit mode
- Click ”+ Add Link”
- Enter the URL, title, and optional description
Changing Your Background
- Enter edit mode
- Click the background/settings icon in the toolbar
- Choose from:
- Preset images — Curated high-quality backgrounds
- Solid color — Pick any color
- Gradient — Smooth color transitions
- Custom image — Upload your own
