The Extension

Local Storage Only

All your data is stored locally on your device. The extension uses Chrome's local storage API to save:

  • Your dashboard configuration (widgets, layouts, screens)
  • Custom links and bookmarks
  • Widget settings (weather location, RSS feeds, stock tickers, etc.)
  • Theme preferences and display settings
  • Todo lists and notes

We do not collect, transmit, or store any of this data on our servers. All data remains on your device and is never sent to external servers.

Third-Party Services

The extension fetches data from the following third-party services to provide widget functionality:

Weather Data

  • Service: Open-Meteo API (api.open-meteo.com)
  • Data Sent: Your configured location coordinates (latitude/longitude) or city name
  • Purpose: To display current weather and forecasts
  • Privacy: Open-Meteo's privacy policy applies. We do not store your location data.

Cryptocurrency Data

  • Service: CoinGecko API (api.coingecko.com)
  • Data Sent: Cryptocurrency symbols you choose to display
  • Purpose: To display cryptocurrency prices
  • Privacy: CoinGecko's privacy policy applies.

Stock Market Data

  • Services: Yahoo Finance and Stooq
  • Data Sent: Stock ticker symbols you choose to display
  • Purpose: To display stock prices and market data
  • Privacy: These services' privacy policies apply.

RSS Feeds

  • Services: RSS feed providers (BBC, TechCrunch, The Verge, etc.) and any custom feeds you add
  • Data Sent: RSS feed URLs you configure
  • Purpose: To fetch and display news articles
  • Privacy: Each RSS feed provider's privacy policy applies.

Images

  • Unsplash (images.unsplash.com) - for preset background images
  • Picsum Photos (picsum.photos) - for random screensaver images
  • Google Favicon Service - for website favicons

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

  • storage - To save your dashboard configuration locally
  • bookmarks - To display your browser bookmarks in the Bookmarks widget (optional)
  • alarms - To schedule periodic updates for widgets (RSS, weather, stocks)
  • host_permissions - To fetch data from the third-party services listed above

The Website

Information We Collect

When you visit this website, we may collect:

  • Analytics Data: We use privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site. This data is anonymized and does not include personal identifiers.
  • Purchase Information: If you purchase premium features, your payment is processed by Paddle. We receive your email address to send your license key. We do not store credit card information.
